DECREASE IN SHOPPING TRIPS: WHAT'S NEXT?

Researches indicate that the frequency of shopping trips in Serbia is declining compared to the previous year. The annual report of GfK Shopper 3600, based on a study of consumer behaviour during shopping conducted on a sample of 2000 Serbian households, provides the following data:

  • In 2022, the average Serbian shopper made 254 trips to the stores.
  • It is a -3% decrease in purchasing frequency compared to the previous year.
  • The average monthly number of shopping trips in Serbia is approximately 21.

What does this mean for retail chains?

Among other things, it means that retailers are losing a 3% chance for customers to see their products on sale and other special promotions.

How to respond to this challenge?

By having a good understanding of industry trends, we can assess changes and their consequences. Placing the customer, their needs, and habits at the centre of every project makes knowledge of trends an excellent starting point from which we create solutions.

What are the dilemmas?

At Input, we know that your entire business revolves around these questions. How can we increase sales? How can we simplify the purchasing process? How can we make our offerings attractive and noticeable to customers?

What have we learned?

On their journey through the store, from the entrance to the checkout, customers expect to easily see the assortment, offers and promotional items. On the other hand, retailers struggle to display their offerings in easily visible, accessible, and attractive positions. Solutions that enable attractive highlighting and emphasis on promotional and discounted offerings are crucial.

We have a solution!

One of the solutions we have come up with is the 3 x 3 product display table.
